Tattersall Lander once again attended the annual Run With A Story Charity Auction Dinner.
This year the charity was supporting Ella Hammond. Ella is four years old and has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue – Neo-natal Marfan Syndrome. It affects about one in 5,000 people and those with the condition often grow tall and thin. It brings a swathe of medical issues that range from vision impairment to organ damage. In Ella’s case, three out of four of her hearts valves have been compromised.
Ella’s mum, Sheree, gave us all a glimpse into a day in their life and there was not a dry eye in the house. Keeping her free from illness and continuing to grow has been Ella’s mother Sheree’s mission. Ella’s odds are heavily stacked against her, even a common cold could be fatal. The best thing for Ella is an opportunity to be given all the help she needs, and to maybe one day be able to walk and play with her older sister.
Retired Valley Motor Auctions auctioneer Sam Dawe, who travelled some 300kms from Tamworth to attend, hosted the event. His charm, wit and heckling continually reminding everybody as to why they were there, and to dig deep in their pockets when bidding.
Tattersall Lander contributed with winning bids on 4 prizes. Our very own Office Manager Jane scooped both the men’s and women’s Snow Boards! While the newest member of the Tattersall Lander family Julie won a fantastic photography session with GAP Photography. While Bob outbid all of the ladies in the room for a hair pamper package!!
Organisers are still in the process of tallying the total money raised. A fantastic night in support of a very deserving family. Tattersall Lander wish the Hammond family well with their journey.
